LABOR AND DELIVERY

I hear your heart beat thwump thwump thwumping

The wait is intense

Each moment stre-e-e-e-e-e-tches.

Fourteen hours left in today.

Which will be the hour of your advent?

We can hardly wait to greet you.

The world is not perfect. It’s broken. It hurts.

I’ll do what I can to protect you from it;

To show you the little glimmers of beauty and hope;

To make sure you see the best in the world.

But I’m not perfect. I’m broken. I hurt.

I will teach you to sing by singing.

I will teach you to cry by crying.

I will teach you to laugh by laughing.

I will teach you to apologize by apologizing.

I will teach you to receive grace by receiving grace.

I will teach you to show mercy by showing mercy.

I will teach you to love by loving.

The world hurts. It’s broken. It is not perfect.

But it will be better

For having you
