FATHERHOOD

Every day new challenges

Every moment new successes and failures

Patience tried

Children cried

Tender care

Tempers flare

Apologies offered

Hugs proffered

Each new adventure brings growth

And we figure it out

Together

LOSS AVERSE

Naively I try controlling

I hate the feeling of unrolling

Things coming undone

Prizes unwon

Risks untaken

Rewards not making

Why does loss hurt me twice

When gains feel half as nice?

How do I conquer all my fear?

Why do I hold fear so dear?

Anxiety eats at me

THE END (a haiku)

Thirty new poems

This is the last one for now

But I will write more
